Douwe Egberts - Classroom
Latte [laa-tay]
The latte is a delicately structured combination of a full bodied espresso, steamed milk and finished with silky foamed milk.
To make a latte you will need;
- 7g of freshly ground Douwe Egberts espresso beans
- 0.6ltr. stainless steel jug (cold)
- 120ml of fresh cold milk
- A tall latte glass
Brew
Brew an espresso as shown on the espresso page, into a latte cup/glass.
Fill & Stretch
Fill a 0.6ltr. stainless steel jug with fresh cold milk to just below the spout level. Keeping the steam arm just below the milk surface at all times, heat the milk until the jug is hot to touch.
Tap & Roll
Tap and roll the jug on the counter to remove any large bubbles from the surface and create a shiny texture.
Pour
Pour the milk into the latte glass, finishing off with a 5 to 10mm froth.
