Filter Coffee

The perfect filter coffee is delicate in nature, light on the palate and should sustain you throughout the day. This recipe is based on the Bravilor Bulk brewer, quantities will vary depending on equipment used - test your own to find your preferred brew.

To make an urn of freshly brewed filter coffee you will need;

  • 250g of Douwe Egberts ground filter coffee per every 5 litres
  • Do not draw coffee while it is still brewing, as this will affect the quality of your full brew
  • 5 litres (or multiples of) hot water
  • Thermal flasks, cups, saucers, spoons, sugar bowl and milk jug


Place & Fill
Place a filter paper into the filter pan and fill with 250g of ground coffee for every 5 litres.

Shake & Place
Shake the filter pan to level out coffee and place on top of coffee urn.

Replace & Swing
Replace the lid of the filter pan and swing the water outlet over the top of the filter pan.

Select & Wait
Select the amount of coffee you want to brew and wait. When the beep sounds, you are ready to serve.
