Cappuccino [kapp-o-cheen-o]
The cappuccino is a combination of steamed and foamed milk with the delicate taste characteristics of the espresso cutting through.
To make a cappuccino you will need;
- 7g of freshly ground Douwe Egberts espresso beans (14g for a large cappuccino)
- 0.6ltr. stainless steel jug (cold)
- 120ml of fresh cold milk
- A cappuccino cup (warmed)
Brew
Brew an espresso as shown on the espresso page.
Fill & Stretch
Fill a 0.6ltr. stainless steel jug with fresh cold milk to just below the spout level. Keeping the steam arm just below the milk surface at all times, heat the milk until the jug is hot to touch.
Tap & Rotate
Tap the jug on the counter to remove any large bubbles from the surface and rotate the jug to mix the foam and milk.
Pour
This is key. Remember to pour the milk on top of the espresso with the jug horizontal.
